Care guide

How to keep delicate fabrics, embroidery and embellishments looking their best.

General care

  • Dry clean formal, embroidered and embellished pieces.
  • No machine washing for delicate or stitched outfits; hand washing can also harm embroidery.
  • Dry in the shade and never tumble dry, so colours stay true.
  • Steam where you can. If you iron, use low heat and iron inside out.
  • No heat on embellishments: keep irons away from sequins, beads, crystals, pearls and embroidery.
  • Handle gently: don't wring, twist, scrub or pull embroidered areas.
  • Store on a hanger in a cool, dry place and a breathable garment bag; folding presses down embellishments.
  • Spare beads or buttons are included where the design has them, for small repairs.

Fabric by fabric

  • Chiffon: light and delicate; handle gently and steam rather than iron.
  • Organza: low heat if ironing, with light pressure to keep it crisp.
  • Silk and silk blends: dry clean only; keep away from water and strong sunlight.
  • Lawn and cotton: iron lightly on medium heat.
  • Net and embroidered fabrics: very delicate; keep away from rough surfaces that can snag.
  • Velvet: don't iron directly; steam from a distance to lift the pile.

Handwork can vary slightly from piece to piece. With this care your outfit will stay beautiful for years.
